Boston Compass Illustrations
PROJECT TYPE: Illustration CLIENT: Boston Compass TIMELINE: April 2026The Boston Compass engaged Curioko Studio to produce illustrations for their May 2026 issue. This artist-run newspaper highlights local happenings related music, art, activism, and identity. Each month, they hire a local artist to illustrate the header image, spot illustrations to utilize throughout the newspaper, background patterns for social media, and a full spread of original artwork.
Given the constraint of the newspaper printing in a single color, I designed the illustrations digitally in high contrast greyscale. The header and spot illustrations featured characters and symbols from my personal portfolio of work. I focused on a theme of connection to nature and the cosmos as we made the leap seasonally from winter into spring.
